Mission Club

The third and fourth grade students are invited to join the Mission Club. The Saint Mark Mission Club offers the students the opportunity to experience ways to care and pray for others in our community and around the world. The children engage in a variety of service projects and guest speakers are invited to speak to the children as well. Some past projects included making holiday crafts and cards for the parish shut-ins, a used book collection for St. Coleman parish, and a “behind the scenes” sacristy tour with Mrs. Cap.

The Mission Club will usually meet twice a month during the lunch and recess period. There are also additional meetings scheduled occasionally to accommodate special projects. A Mission Club letter will be given to all interested students in joining in early September.

Updates:

The Saint Mark Mission Club has a membership of 38 third and fourth graders.  We met several times this past month to make Halloween wreaths and cards for the parish shut-ins.  These were delivered to them by the Eucharistic ministers after Mass.

Our next project will be writing letters to be sent to the members of the Cloistered Communities of men and women in Cleveland. The children will be seeing a video prepared by the Poor Clare sisters that will give them an understanding of their vocation and life at their convent.  We want the children to understand the importance of religious vocations.
